La Motovendemmia Returns to Citari: Friendship, Motorcycles and the Land
There are days that go beyond the simple pleasure of being together. Days when a shared passion becomes the common thread that brings people together, creates opportunities to share experiences, and strengthens bonds that time has never truly broken.
This was the spirit behind the return of La Motovendemmia in 2026, as motorcycles once again travelled through the roads of the Lugana region, bringing members, friends and enthusiasts together for a day filled with engines, vineyards, conviviality and, above all, friendship.
Born more than ten years ago from an idea by AMRI – Associazione Motociclisti Rotariani d’Italia, La Motovendemmia was conceived from the very beginning as an event capable of bringing together two seemingly distant worlds, yet united by deeply shared values: a passion for motorcycles and for the land, the pleasure of travelling and discovering, the joy of being together and the value of human relationships.
And what better place to rediscover this spirit than a winery in the heart of the Lugana region?
Citari and AMRI: A Bond That Goes Beyond Partnership
Citari has always stood alongside La Motovendemmia, not simply as a partner of the initiative, but because of a genuine connection built on shared passions, friendship and a strong sense of belonging.
This bond is also deeply rooted in the personal history of the entire Mascini-Gettuli family, and in their connection with the club of Ugo Mascini, whose memory is held dear by every member, with great affection and esteem. His son Francesco is today an active promoter of the revival of this special initiative.
Welcoming La Motovendemmia back to Citari meant reconnecting with a community of people whose bond goes far beyond a calendar of events: a shared sense of belonging, mutual respect and the pleasure of spending time together while sharing the passions that unite us.
Riding Through the Lugana Region
La Motovendemmia was created to experience the land in a different way.
The motorcycle becomes the means through which to travel along its roads, discover hidden views, take in the landscapes and reach those places where the character of a region is expressed through its people and its products.
The Lugana region, with its vineyards, the landscapes surrounding Lake Garda and its distinctive identity, provides the perfect setting for a day in which the journey matters just as much as the destination.
And at the end of the ride, the winery becomes a place to slow down.
The motorcycles are parked, everyone gathers around a table laden with delicious local specialities from the host region as well as from the guests’ own areas of origin, each bringing something with enthusiasm and a genuine spirit of sharing.
Glasses are raised, and the stories of the day begin.
Shared experiences turn into conversations, conversations become memories, and memories are often what remain with us the longest.
When Passion Becomes Friendship
The true value of La Motovendemmia cannot be measured in kilometres travelled.
It can be found in the smiles, the handshakes, the people meeting again after a long time and those meeting for the very first time. It can be found in the desire to talk about motorcycles, wine and the land, but also about the activities of Rotary Clubs, experiences shared and projects for the future.
For one day, formality gives way to spontaneity.
And it is precisely this informal atmosphere that makes the event so special: an opportunity to simply enjoy one another’s company, in keeping with Rotary values and with the spirit of friendship that has always defined AMRI.
After several years away, rediscovering this atmosphere made the occasion even more meaningful. The return of La Motovendemmia felt like the long-awaited revival of something precious: desired, remembered and finally possible once again.
The Value of Coming Together Again
La Motovendemmia 2026 leaves us with one simple certainty: some formulas work because they are simple and, precisely for that reason, authentic.
Citari is proud to have hosted this special event once again and to continue being part of a story that brings together AMRI, the Rotary community, the Mascini-Gettuli family and a community of friends united by a passion for two wheels and by a number of essential human values.
Because, in the end, just as with wine, the finest friendships also need time to mature.
And when we come together again, the pleasure is even greater.
